Experienced patient

I was at the pharmacy on Saturday picking up a prescription. This is one that I have taken some form of in the past. Because it was a differently named generic I had to speak with the pharmacist. The conversation went like this:

Pharmacist: Have you taken this before?
Me: Um not that one in particular, but I've taken "namebrand 1," "namebrand 2" and "generic."
Pharmacist: Okay well it's the same as those others.

Something struck me as odd about that exchange. Normally when we recall a resume for someone we're telling them things we're proud of or at least things we ought to be proud of. I didn't feel proud after this recitation. I felt and feel that I have too much experience taking these medications. My goal, which began before Saturday, is to reduce my weight and my need of these these drugs.
